Dutch EU Presidency launches website on urban agenda
The Netherlands EU Presidency has recently launched a dedicated website on the urban agenda. The Netherlands will be holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the 12th time during the first half of the 2016.
The Dutch Presidency has defined the following objectives: to focus on the essentials, on growth and on jobs through innovation and to connect EU policy with citizens and civil society. To achieve these objectives, the Netherlands will be focusing on four priority areas: migration & international security, Europe as an innovator and job creator, sound finances and a robust Eurozone and forward-looking climate & energy policy.
The website for the Urban Agenda of the Dutch Presidency includes an explanation on the Pact of Amsterdam which will contain the Operational Framework of the EU Urban Agenda.
The EU Urban Agenda during the Dutch Presidency will develop four partnerships in Air Quality, Housing, Urban Poverty and the Integration of Refugees and Migrants. The focus of all of them will be on better regulation, better funding and better knowledge exchange.
